Erwin fitzke was still playing tennis two years ago. Because sport is and was his passion and his lifeblood. For a long time he was an active athlete at TC forchheim and played tennis tournaments all over europe. Now the rustic forchheimer celebrated his 90th birthday. Birthday.

In 1944, at the age of 15, he was drafted into military service and became a russian prisoner, from which he managed to escape. After that, he worked on a farm for three years. He had heard nothing more from his family. He only met her again later in gelsenkirchen.
When he was 20 years old, he decided to take evening classes to catch up on his high school diploma and study mechanical engineering. He met his wife sigrid, whom he married in 1955 and with whom he lived in dusseldorf for many years. For professional reasons, at the end of the sixties, he decided to make forchheim his new home, and he became a "forchheimer", popular and appreciated in his circle. With his sigrid, who died three years ago and with whom he was still able to celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary, he had built a house on kennedy ring. Professionally, fitzke had great success: he became chief engineer at the hertel company in furth and remained there until his retirement.
The jubilarian looks back with pleasure on the time of the many social activities, which he carried out with idealism and enthusiasm and which always kept him on his toes. He was the carnival prince of eintracht forchheim several times, he enjoyed swinging his dancing leg, and he was a sought-after tenor in the eintracht choir, of which he became an honorary member after 50 years of membership. He also founded a bowling club, which no longer exists.
