When he was 20 years old, he decided to take evening classes to catch up on his high school diploma and study mechanical engineering. He met his wife sigrid, whom he married in 1955 and with whom he lived in dusseldorf for many years. The jubilarian looks back with pleasure on the time of the many social activities, which he carried out with idealism and enthusiasm and which always kept him on his toes. He also founded a bowling club, which no longer exists.
